- What is Bid9ja?
Bid9ja is an online e-auctions platform designed for Nigerians to purchase discounted goods through bidding. Sellers list items for auction, and Buyers BID for those items. The platform offers a variety of products, including electronics, home goods, fashion, gadgets, and much more. By participating in auctions, users can secure deals far below retail prices.
- How do I create an account on Bid9ja?
To get started, follow these steps:
- Go to the Bid9ja Registration Page.
- Fill in the Required Details, a very swift process that requires just your email.
- A One Time Code 2FA – will be sent to your provided email address.
- Confirm your email address using the verification code sent to your inbox.
- A temporary Password will be Generated and Sent to your Inbox.
- Log in using the Credentials to start Browsing through Listed Items and Bidding.
- Note that you can change your Password to your preferred choice.
Input the Password Sent to your Inbox as Old Password and Choose a new on.
Save the new password and this remains your Credentials for future logins
- How do I start Bidding on Bid9ja?
Here’s how to start:
- Sign in to your account.
- Browse Available Auctions – Products are listed with Starting Prices and End Times.
- Place your Bid – Click on the BID Button, the amount will increase by NGN (1) One Naira automatically.
- If you're the Highest Bidder when the Auction Ends, you win the item.
- How does the bidding process work?
Bidding on Bid9ja is simple:
- Each auction has a Starting Bid and a defined Time Limit.
- You place a Bid by Triggering a Higher Amount than the Current Bid.
- When the Auction Time Runs Out, the Highest Bidder wins the Auction.
- If another user Triggers to BID Higher, this resets the timer by a few seconds or minutes to enable you or other Bidders to enter or outbid the user.
- You Pay for the item if you win at the close price of the Auction, and we’ll deliver the item to your specified address (for Products) or contact your for processing (for Services).
- How do I know if I’ve won an Auction?
You’ll be notified through email or SMS once the auction closes. Additionally, you’ll see a confirmation in your Bid9ja account dashboard.
- Can I cancel my bid once placed?
No, once a bid is placed, it cannot be cancelled. Make sure to double-check the bid amount before submitting.
- What happens if two users place the same bid at the same time?
In the rare event that two users place the same bid at the same time, the system will automatically select the user who placed the bid first. The second user will receive a notification that their bid was outbid.
- Can I bid on multiple auctions at once?
Yes, you can place bids on as many auctions as you like, but you must monitor each auction’s progress to ensure you don’t miss out on any items.
- How are items priced in an Auction?
The Starting Price of each item is set by the Seller, and Bidding begins from there. The price increases as users places higher bids. The final price is the highest bid made when the auction time runs out.
- What Payment Methods do you Accept?
We accept several payment methods for ease:
- Bank Transfer
- Debit/Credit Cards (MasterCard, Visa, Verve)
- Mobile Payments (e.g., USSD transfers, Mobile Money)
- How do I make a payment after winning an auction?
Once you’ve won an auction, a payment link will be sent to your email or SMS. You can pay using any of the methods available (bank transfer, mobile money, or credit card).
- How long do I have to pay after winning an auction?
You have 72 hours to complete your payment after winning an auction. If payment is not received within this time, the auction will be cancelled, and the item will be offered to the next highest bidder.
- Can I sell items on Bid9ja?
Yes, you can sell your own items by Registering as a seller. Once Approved, you can list your items for auction by:
- Uploading a detailed product description
- Setting a starting bid
- Defining the Auction Duration
- Our compliance Agents will verify the Item
- Item will then be listed
- Is there a limit to how many items I can list for auction?
Currently, there is no limit to how many items you can list. However, you must ensure each product complies with our Terms of Service and meets our quality standards.
- Can I set a reserve price for my auction items?
Yes, you can set a reserve price for your item. The reserve price is the minimum amount you are willing to accept. If the bidding does not reach this amount, the item will not be sold.
- Are the products genuine and authentic?
All products listed on Bid9ja are guaranteed to be Genuine and Authentic. We work only with Verified Sellers and have a Strict Policy against Counterfeit goods. We also offer a Buyer Protection Program to safeguard your purchase.
- How do I track my Bids?
You can view your active and past bids by logging into your Bid9ja dashboard. The dashboard shows:
- Your active bids
- Upcoming auction timings
- Winning status of past bids
- What should I do if I am outbid?
If you are outbid, you will receive an outbid notification on the Item Dashboard. You can choose to place a higher bid if you still wish to win the item.
- What happens if the item I won is damaged or not as described?
In the event that you receive a damaged or misrepresented item, please contact our customer support immediately. We offer a refund or exchange policy in such cases.
- Can I return an item after winning?
Items can be returned only if they are damaged, not as described, or if they do not meet quality standards. You must initiate the return process within 7 days of receiving the item. Please read our Return Policy for more details.
- How is shipping handled?
Shipping is handled by trusted delivery partners. Shipping costs are calculated based on your location and the size of the item. You will receive a shipping tracking number once the item is dispatched.
- Can I change my shipping address after placing a bid?
No, once a bid is placed and you win the auction, the shipping address is final. Make sure your address is accurate before placing a bid.
- Do you ship internationally?
Currently, we only offer domestic shipping within Nigeria. We’re planning to expand our services to other countries in the future, so stay tuned for updates.
- Is Bid9ja mobile-friendly?
Yes, Bid9ja is optimized for both desktop and mobile devices, allowing you to place bids, track auctions, and make payments on the go.
- What should I do if I forget my account password?
If you forget your password, go to the Login Page, click on Forgot Password, and follow the prompts to reset it. You’ll receive a temporary password to login via email.
- Are there any hidden fees?
No, there are no hidden fees. All fees related to the auction, shipping, and payment processing are clearly displayed before you make a BID or Purchase.

Your Bid9ja account is personal and should not be shared with others. If you need to make multiple bids, you can do so on different accounts.

- How do I leave feedback for sellers or products?
Once you receive your product, you’ll be prompted to leave feedback. You can rate the product and seller based on your experience. We encourage you to leave honest feedback to help other buyers.
- Can I cancel an auction if there are no bids? (Seller)
Yes, if an auction does not receive any bids, you can cancel or relist the item. However, once bids are placed, the auction cannot be cancelled.
- How do I know if a Product has a warranty?
Sellers are required to specify if a product comes with a warranty. Please check the product details on the auction page to see if a warranty is included.
- How do I verify the authenticity of the product I won?
Bid9ja works with verified sellers to ensure that all items are genuine. You can also request the certificate of authenticity for high-value items directly from the attending Agent assigned to your winning.
- Can I set automatic bids or maximum bids?
Yes, you can set a maximum bid. When you place a bid, the platform can automatically increase your bid up to your maximum limit if other bidders outbid you. This ensures you stay in the running for the item without constantly monitoring the auction.
- Can I save my favorite items for later?
Yes, you can bookmark or save your favourite auctions by clicking the "Save for Later" button. This allows you to easily find them in your Saved Auctions section.
- What happens if I miss an auction?
Don’t worry! If you miss an auction, you can sign up for auction alerts for similar items, and we’ll notify you when they become available.
- How does Bid9ja protect my personal and payment information?
At Bid9ja, your security is our priority. We utilize SSL encryption for all transactions to ensure your data is secure. Our payment processing partners (Paystack) are PCI-DSS compliant, so your financial information is always safe.
- How does Bid9ja prevent fraud or scams?
Bid9ja has a zero-tolerance policy against fraud. We have a robust anti-fraud detection system that monitors suspicious activities and verifies sellers before they can list items. If you suspect fraudulent behaviour, please report it immediately to our support team.
- Can I become an affiliate and earn commissions?

- Is there a Bid9ja mobile app?
